SME Digital Introduces Automated Repayment Integration With Bank of Maldives for Seamless Facility Repayments

SME Digital has introduced a new automated repayment integration with Bank of Maldives (BML), making facility repayments significantly more seamless and convenient for customers and removing the manual steps that have traditionally been part of the repayment process.

As a subsidiary of Bank of Maldives, SME Digital remains firmly committed to enhancing the customer experience through innovative digital solutions. The new integration enables repayments to be automatically deducted from customers' BML accounts on scheduled repayment dates, eliminating the need for manual repayment processing or the submission of payment confirmations, a change that brings welcome simplicity to an otherwise routine but often time-consuming task.

Reducing Administrative Burden for Customers

By streamlining the repayment process, the integration reduces administrative effort, helps ensure repayments are made on schedule, supports a stronger credit history, and allows customers to spend less time managing repayments and more time focusing on what matters most, running and growing their businesses.

A Phased Rollout

The automated repayment system will be rolled out in phases, commencing with customers who have converted their existing conventional loans to Islamic financing under SME Digital's refinancing initiative, before being gradually extended to additional facilities in the future. This phased approach ensures a smooth and well-managed rollout, allowing SME Digital to refine the system before expanding it to its broader customer base.

A Commitment to Digital Innovation

Commenting on the enhancement, Badhurudheen Hassan, CEO of SME Digital, said, "At SME Digital, we are continuously working to enhance customer convenience through digital solutions. This integration simplifies the repayment process by eliminating manual steps and enabling repayments to be automatically deducted from customers' Bank of Maldives accounts. By making repayments more seamless and efficient, we are helping customers manage their facilities with greater ease while improving their overall experience with SME Digital."

The automated repayment integration marks another meaningful step in SME Digital's ongoing efforts to enhance the customer experience through digital innovation. As a subsidiary of Bank of Maldives, SME Digital remains committed to delivering convenient, customer-centric solutions that simplify financial processes and make it easier for customers across the Maldives to manage their facilities with confidence and ease.
