Finance Minister Moosa Zameer Meets with China Development Bank to Strengthen Financial Cooperation
Minister of Finance and Planning Moosa Zameer met with senior officials from the China Development Bank (CDB) to discuss ongoing financial cooperation and explore future support for national development initiatives. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 10th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), currently being held in Beijing.
During the meeting, Minister Zameer acknowledged the continued support from the China Development Bank and highlighted the importance of their partnership in implementing key components of the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP). Discussions centered on the progress of existing projects and ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as housing and infrastructure, which remain essential for the Maldives’ long-term economic and social growth.
The Maldives delegation included Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, Ambassador to China; Ahmed Saaid Musthafa, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning; Ali Sajid Shakir and Mizna Waheed, Second Secretaries at the Embassy of Maldives in China; and Rauha Ibrahim, Resource Mobilization Analyst at the Ministry.
Representing the China Development Bank were Bai Shiyuan, Vice President of the International Financial Business Department; Li Yunzhi, General Manager of the Second International Cooperation Department; Jiang Ketao, Deputy General Manager of the International Credit Department; and Hou Mengrui, Director of the Second Credit Management Division.
