Liverpool Legend Dirk Kuyt Joins Maldives Food Carnival 2025 as Special Guest of Visit Maldives

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) welcomed Liverpool FC icon Dirk Kuyt to the Maldives Food Carnival 2025, where he appeared as a special guest at the LFC Fan Zone. The celebrated Dutch footballer’s visit drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, underscoring the powerful intersection of global football fandom and the Maldives’ emerging profile as a sports tourism destination.

Kuyt, who played a pivotal role in Liverpool FC’s 2012 League Cup victory, is remembered for his versatility, leadership, and over 100 international appearances for the Netherlands, including a standout performance in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He also played for top European clubs such as Feyenoord and Fenerbahçe.
