Bank of Maldives has officially opened applications for the Bank Fund 2026, its annual grant programme that empowers registered NGOs across the Maldives to design and deliver meaningful, community-focused projects that create lasting change at the grassroots level.
Now entering its third consecutive year, the Bank Fund will award MVR 200,000 each to five selected projects, spanning four thematic pillars: Education, Environment, Sports, and Community Development. The programme reaffirms the bank's longstanding dedication to fostering inclusive growth, strengthening civil society, and ensuring that impactful ideas from local organisations have the financial backing they need to become a reality.
Speaking on the launch of this year's applications, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said, "At Bank of Maldives, we firmly believe that lasting progress is built from the ground up. The Bank Fund reflects our dedication to enabling local organisations to turn their innovative ideas into tangible benefits for their communities. We are proud to see the meaningful difference this fund has already made and look forward to supporting another cohort of impactful, sustainability-driven initiatives in 2026."
Since its launch, the Bank Fund has supported nine NGOs in carrying out diverse and impactful projects that directly address the needs of local communities across the Maldives, demonstrating the real and measurable difference that targeted community investment can make.
Registered NGOs and Clubs across the Maldives are encouraged to submit their completed application forms and project proposals via email to bankfund@bml.com.mv. All submissions must be received no later than 2:00 PM on Sunday, 14th June 2026.
Bank of Maldives encourages all eligible organisations with innovative and community-centred ideas to seize this opportunity and be part of a programme that is making a genuine difference in communities from one end of the Maldives to the other.
