Bank of Maldives Bank Fund Backs Multimedia Studio at Dh. Atoll Education Centre, Empowering Over 800 Students
United Islamic Society, a 2025 BML Bank Fund winner, has opened a fully equipped multimedia studio at Dh. Atoll Education Centre in Kudahuvadhoo, empowering over 800 students with professional digital media tools and training. The project is funded through Bank of Maldives' annual MVR 200,000 Bank Fund programme.
A fully equipped multimedia studio has been established at Dh. Atoll Education Centre (Dh.A.E.C) in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, made possible through funding from Bank of Maldives' annual Bank Fund programme, bringing professional digital media capabilities to over 800 students.
The project was spearheaded by United Islamic Society (UIS), a Kudahuvadhoo-based NGO and a 2025 Bank Fund winner. Under the initiative, UIS has set up a professionally equipped and sustainable multimedia studio for the school's Media Club, fitted with professional cameras, lighting kits, audio recording tools, editing computers, and live streaming hardware, giving students access to industry-standard tools for the very first time.
Dh.A.E.C's Media Club had long been an active and enthusiastic group, but had previously been held back by a significant lack of equipment and resources. The new studio transforms that reality entirely, creating a dedicated training and production hub where students can produce videos, broadcast events, compile reports, and create educational content for the school's official YouTube channel. The facility is also expected to extend its services to nearby islands and local institutions, fostering wider community collaboration and knowledge sharing across the atoll.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of the studio, a dedicated management team drawn from both the school and UIS will oversee its operations, maintaining regular upkeep, delivering ongoing training, and exploring potential revenue-generating collaborations with community partners to keep the facility thriving well into the future.
The Bank Fund is Bank of Maldives' annual community funding programme, which selects five projects each year to receive MVR 200,000 in funding each, channelling resources into grassroots initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities across the Maldives. Bank of Maldives remains steadfast in its mission to empower local communities and build a brighter, more connected future for the nation.
