Bank of Maldives Inaugurates New Paperless Branch in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, Strengthening Regional Banking Access

Bank of Maldives has officially opened its new branch in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, marking another significant step in the bank's ongoing drive to bring modern, accessible banking services to communities across the atolls.

The inauguration ceremony was held on the island and was attended by Minister of Finance and Planning, Moosa Zameer, alongside BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and senior officials of the bank. The event highlighted the importance of expanding quality financial services beyond the capital and into the regions where communities depend on them most.

The newly built branch replaces the original Kudahuvadhoo branch, offering an upgraded and more capable facility designed to better serve the growing needs of residents in Kudahuvadhoo and the surrounding islands. Notably, the branch operates as a fully paperless branch, with all services delivered digitally, making banking faster, more efficient, and more convenient for customers.

Speaking at the opening, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said, "The new branch in Kudahuvadhoo reflects our continued investment in regional infrastructure and our commitment to modern banking. As a paperless branch, services will be provided digitally, making banking more efficient and convenient for our customers. This facility will strengthen our ability to serve individuals, families, and businesses in the region."

The Kudahuvadhoo branch opening is part of a broader expansion initiative, with Bank of Maldives planning to establish 12 new branches across the country this year alone. The rollout reflects the bank's firm commitment to ensuring that individuals, families, and businesses in every corner of the Maldives have access to reliable and modern banking services.

As the nation's leading financial institution, Bank of Maldives currently operates 42 branches across all 20 atolls, 267 ATMs, and advanced digital banking platforms, continuing its mission to support communities through innovative solutions and expanded service access nationwide.
