Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has announced a special awards programme dedicated to recognising outstanding contributors to the Maldives' thriving guesthouse industry, celebrating the businesses, individuals, and island communities that are shaping the future of local hospitality.
The awards will be presented at the inaugural MIB Guesthouse Symposium in October, providing a prestigious platform to spotlight those who are driving innovation, promoting sustainability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences across the country's growing guesthouse sector.
Three Categories of Recognition
The programme is structured around three distinct award categories, covering a comprehensive range of contributors to the industry.
The Guesthouse Awards comprise eight accolades, recognising outstanding business performance and service delivery, including the Service Excellence and Hospitality Award, the Authentic Maldivian Experience Award, and the Eco-Friendly Award, among others.
Three Individual Awards will honour exceptional hospitality professionals, including recipients of the Guest Experience Champion Award and the Outstanding Dive Leader Award, celebrating the talent and dedication of individuals who go above and beyond in their service to guests.
A single Island Award will also be presented, recognising an island community for its collective contribution to the growth and development of the guesthouse sector, acknowledging the important role that entire communities play in shaping the local tourism experience.

To ensure the integrity and credibility of the awards process, Crowe Maldives, a renowned firm specialising in audit and advisory services, has been appointed to oversee the full administration of the programme. Under the agreement, Crowe Maldives will manage the nomination process, judge selection, and overall evaluations, providing independent oversight that upholds the highest standards of transparency and fairness.
