Dhiraagu GudiFest Returns to Hulhumale This Friday, Bringing Free Kites and Family Fun to Dhiraagu Beach

Dhiraagu's beloved GudiFest celebration is heading to Hulhumale this week, with the second GudiFest event of Ramadan 2026 set to take place on Friday, 6th March at Dhiraagu Beach, Hulhumale Phase 2, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, promising an evening of joy, colour, and cherished cultural tradition for families across the community.

The first GudiFest of this Ramadan was held last Friday at Usfasgandu, Malé, drawing enthusiastic participation and an overwhelmingly positive response from the public, setting the perfect tone for what is shaping up to be another memorable edition on the shores of Hulhumale.

A Gift for Every Child

Children of all ages are warmly invited to join the festivities, with Dhiraagu gifting a complimentary kite to every participant, ensuring that every child who attends can take to the skies and experience the simple yet timeless joy of kite flying. The event is designed to bring families together for a fun and heartwarming evening that celebrates both community spirit and Maldivian cultural heritage.

Keeping a Beloved Tradition Alive

Dhiraagu GudiFest was first launched by the company in 2023 with a heartfelt mission to encourage more children to embrace the traditional cultural practice of kite flying during the evenings of Ramadan, a cherished Dhivehi custom that has long been associated with the holy month. Continuing this tradition, GudiFest will be held at multiple locations across the Maldives this Ramadan, ensuring that communities from one end of the country to the other can participate in and celebrate this beloved cultural heritage.

The GudiFest initiative is a reflection of Dhiraagu's broader commitment to not only connecting communities through technology but also to preserving and reviving Dhivehi culture and traditional customs through meaningful and community-driven programmes. As a company that actively engages with the public during Ramadan through exciting events, activities, and valuable promotions, Dhiraagu continues to play an important role in keeping the spirit and soul of Maldivian culture alive for generations to come.
