Dhiraagu Gamers Guild Kicks Off Season 2 With Bold Plans for International Tournaments and Expanded Community Gaming Experiences

Dhiraagu Gamers Guild (DGG), the Maldives' largest gaming platform, has officially launched its Season 2 with a vibrant opening event held at the Dhiraagu Head Office on 31st January 2026, setting the stage for an even bigger and more ambitious year of competitive gaming across the country.

The Season 2 Opening Event unveiled an exciting lineup of tournaments, community initiatives, and activities planned for the year ahead. The evening was filled with interactive gaming activities, refreshments, and a lively performance by local music band Fenfulhi, creating an energetic and celebratory atmosphere for the gaming community to come together and look forward to what lies ahead.

A Year of Remarkable Growth in 2025

Before looking ahead, DGG took a moment to reflect on an impressive 2025 that cemented its position as the undisputed leader of competitive gaming in the Maldives. Over the course of the year, DGG expanded its community to over 11,000 registered gamers, distributed a remarkable MVR 350,000 in prize pools, and awarded participants with more than MVR 150,000 worth of giveaways. The Guild also successfully hosted 17 tournaments across 13 gaming titles, culminating in the landmark Dhiraagu Maldives Gaming Conquest in August 2025, the largest gaming event of its kind ever held in the Maldives. These milestones collectively reaffirm DGG's leadership in shaping and advancing the local gaming ecosystem.

Looking ahead, DGG has set its sights on raising the bar even further in 2026. Plans for the year include delivering more community-powered tournaments, expanding beyond traditional gaming activities, and hosting the Guild's first-ever international online tournament, a landmark step that signals DGG's growing ambitions on the global gaming stage.

During the event, DGG also announced the launch of its highly anticipated Leaderboards feature, alongside additional Guild features set to go live throughout the year, designed to deepen engagement, fuel competition, and enhance the overall experience for the growing community of Maldivian gamers.
