Bank of Maldives Funds Sensory Classroom at Aminiya School, Advancing Inclusive Education for Students With Special Needs
Bank of Maldives has supported the development of the "IWonder" sensory classroom at Aminiya School, providing specialised equipment and resources for over 170 SEN students. The initiative builds on BML's extensive history of supporting inclusive education, having contributed to SEN classrooms and equipment across 40 schools nationwide.
Bank of Maldives has supported the development of a dedicated sensory classroom named "IWonder" at Aminiya School, reaffirming the bank's longstanding commitment to advancing inclusive education and improving learning environments for students with special educational needs across the Maldives.
The newly developed classroom was designed and equipped to provide a suitable, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for students in the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) programme. Aminiya School currently has more than 170 students enrolled in its SEN classes, making the development of a properly resourced learning space both a timely and deeply meaningful investment.
Under the project, Bank of Maldives provided the necessary equipment and maintenance support to bring the classroom to life, including essential improvements to the overall learning environment and the installation of specialised features and resources designed to support the developmental needs of the students. The result is a thoughtfully crafted space where students can learn, grow, and thrive in an environment built specifically for their needs.
The "IWonder" sensory classroom at Aminiya School is the latest in a long series of SEN-focused contributions by Bank of Maldives. The bank has previously supported the development of SEN classrooms at Imaduddin School, Hiriya School, Salahuddin School, Veymandoo School, and Gaafaru School, demonstrating a consistent and sustained focus on inclusive education across different regions of the country. Beyond classroom development, BML has also donated essential equipment to SEN classes in 40 schools across the Maldives over the past few years, touching the lives of countless students who rely on specialised resources to reach their full potential.
Supporting students with special needs remains a key and unwavering priority for Bank of Maldives, with the bank continuing to invest in the tools, infrastructure, and resources necessary to ensure that every child, regardless of ability, has access to a quality and inclusive education.
