Bank of Maldives Celebrates Its Best With 38 Awards at Annual BML Staff Awards Ceremony

Bank of Maldives honoured the talent, dedication, and exceptional contributions of its workforce at the prestigious BML Staff Awards, recognising outstanding individuals and teams who played a defining role in making 2025 the bank's most successful year in its 43-year history.

The evening's most coveted honour, the Employee of the Year Award, was presented to Misbah Abdul Rasheed, Head of Business Systems in the Technology Division, in recognition of his exceptional performance and outstanding contributions throughout 2025. The Leadership Excellence Award went to Yuzna Naseem, Head of Property in the Properties and Administration Division, celebrated for her strong leadership and the meaningful impact she delivered across the organisation. Awards were also presented to individual staff members and teams across key categories including Outstanding Team Achievement, Project Excellence, and Innovation Catalyst, shining a light on the breadth of talent that drives BML forward.

In one of the evening's highlights, the CEO's Award for Outstanding Achievement was conferred upon five distinguished employees in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the bank's performance and long-term strategic success. Each recipient demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, and a measurable impact that extended well beyond their individual roles. The five recipients were:

  1. Moosa Munsif Ahmed, Head of Strategy and Change
  2. Husham Saeed, Director of Technology
  3. Rashfa Jaufar, Chief Credit Officer
  4. Hassan Shaam, Chief Properties and Administration Officer
  5. Adly Ahmed Didi, Chief Information Officer

Addressing staff at the ceremony, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef delivered a heartfelt tribute to the bank's people. "2025 marks a defining chapter in our Bank's 43-year journey, our most successful year to date. Beyond strong financial performance, it reflects our expanding role in driving economic progress across the Maldives. This success is built on the dedication, professionalism, and ambition of our people. Tonight, we celebrate those who have gone above and beyond, individuals and teams whose contributions have shaped this milestone year and continue to inspire our path forward," he said.

A total of 38 awards were presented across the evening, reflecting the wide-ranging excellence that defines the BML workforce.
