BML Islamic's Community Impact Grant Completes Five Staff-Led Projects Across Education and Environment
Bank of Maldives completes five staff-led community projects under BML Islamic's Community Impact Grant, delivering impactful improvements to schools and healthcare facilities across the Maldives in the areas of Education and Environment.
Bank of Maldives has announced the successful completion of five staff-led community projects under BML Islamic's Community Impact Grant, with two further projects still currently underway.
The grant was introduced in 2025 to mark the 10th Anniversary of BML Islamic, with the goal of deepening the bank's connection with local communities across the Maldives. Under the programme, BML staff members partnered with local organisations to design and implement meaningful community initiatives across two key strategic areas: Environment and Education.
The five completed projects are as follows:
1. Outdoor Reading and Study Area, Seenu Atoll School
A dedicated outdoor learning space has been established at Seenu Atoll School, featuring weather-resistant benches, tables, and a shaded roof structure. Surrounded by natural greenery, the area is designed to serve as a calm and focused environment for reading, group study, and personal reflection, encouraging students to embrace learning beyond the classroom.
2. Boundary Wall and Sand/Water Play Area, Th. Atoll School
An outer boundary wall and a dedicated sand and water play area have been constructed at Th. Atoll School. The project was designed to create a joyful, engaging, and development-focused space that nurtures creativity and active play among young children.
3. Seating Installation, G.Dh. Atoll School
Benches have been installed throughout the grounds of G.Dh. Atoll School to improve comfort and accessibility for students, parents, visitors, and staff alike. The initiative aims to foster a more welcoming and inclusive school environment by ensuring adequate and suitable seating is available across the campus.
4. Student Resource Hub, Dharumavantha Hospital
A dedicated Student Resource Hub has been established at Dharumavantha Hospital to enhance medical learning and practical training. The hub is equipped with essential medical textbooks, a 3D anatomy atlas subscription, binocular microscopes, and electronic measurement devices, providing students and trainees with the tools needed for research, study, and hands-on learning.
5. Covered Walkway, Muraidhoo School
A secure and fully covered walkway has been established at Muraidhoo School, connecting classrooms, administrative offices, and outdoor areas. The structure ensures safe and comfortable movement for students, teachers, and parents in all weather conditions, while promoting a more organised and accessible school environment.
With two additional projects still in progress, Bank of Maldives reaffirms its commitment to making a lasting and positive impact in communities across the Maldives through staff-driven initiatives that prioritise both people and the environment.
