BML Bank Fund Backs FEYLI in Transforming B. Atoll Education Centre With a Digital Studio and Enhanced Vocational Training Lab
BML Bank Fund winner FEYLI has opened a Digital Studio and enhanced the Vocational Training Lab at B. Atoll Education Centre, equipping students with practical skills in photography, videography, carpentry, and tailoring. The project is funded through Bank of Maldives' annual MVR 200,000 Bank Fund grant programme.
Foundation of Eydhafushi Youth Linkage (FEYLI), a recipient of Bank of Maldives' annual Bank Fund grant, has completed a transformative project at B. Atoll Education Centre, developing a fully equipped Digital Studio and enhancing the school's existing Vocational Training Lab to equip students with practical skills, creative capabilities, and stronger prospects for future employment.
The two newly developed facilities are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world skills, giving students at B. Atoll Education Centre access to modern equipment, hands-on training, and structured programmes that prepare them for the demands of today's job market.
A Fully Equipped Digital Studio
The newly opened Digital Studio comes fully fitted with digital cameras and a complete production setup, giving students access to professional-grade tools for the very first time. Structured training programmes covering photography, videography, and digital content creation are planned for students, providing them with highly sought-after skills in an increasingly digital world and opening up new creative and professional pathways.
An Enhanced Vocational Training Lab
Alongside the digital studio, FEYLI carried out significant enhancements to the school's existing Vocational Training Lab, expanding its capabilities across two key areas. A newly developed Carpentry Section has been fitted with essential hand tools, battery-powered electric tools, and safety equipment, providing students with a safe and fully resourced environment to develop practical woodworking and construction skills. A dedicated Tailoring Section has also been established, equipped with sewing machines and all the necessary materials to support garment-making, offering students a hands-on pathway into the fashion and textile industry. Structured training programmes are also planned to ensure students make the most of the lab's full range of facilities.
The Bank Fund is Bank of Maldives' annual grant programme that supports registered NGOs in implementing meaningful, community-benefiting projects across the Maldives. Each selected NGO receives MVR 200,000 in funding to launch and complete their projects, channelling resources into grassroots initiatives that create lasting and positive change in communities from one end of the archipelago to the other.
