Bank of Maldives Board proposes a record dividend of MVR 60 per share for 2025, with a total payout of MVR 322.9 million. Two bonus shares per existing share are also recommended, delivering a total shareholder benefit of MVR 2,091.80 per share, pending AGM approval.
Riding on the back of its strongest financial performance to date, the Board of Directors of Bank of Maldives has proposed a record total dividend of MVR 60 per share for the financial year 2025, subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting.
The total dividend payout is expected to amount to MVR 322,915,200 (Three Hundred Twenty-Two Million Nine Hundred Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Rufiyaa), marking the largest dividend proposal in the bank's history and reflecting the strength and consistency of BML's financial results over the past year.
In addition to the cash dividend, the Board has recommended the issuance of two bonus shares for every existing share held, as part of the final dividend package. Following the issuance of bonus shares, the book value of each share will stand at MVR 1,015.90, delivering a total shareholder benefit of MVR 2,091.80 per share. The bonus share issuance is designed to enhance the bank's market capitalisation, maximise shareholder value, and contribute to the continued development and expansion of the Maldivian capital market.
The proposed dividend underscores BML's commitment to delivering long-term value to its shareholders while simultaneously reinforcing the foundations of a stronger and more dynamic local capital market. The final dividend will be payable to all shareholders registered in the Shareholders' Register as of the Book Closure Date, pending formal approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Bank of Maldives continues to demonstrate that strong national purpose and outstanding financial returns can go hand in hand, rewarding those who have placed their trust in the bank while driving broader economic growth across the Maldives.
